Release point is required when creating a club flight and enabling the share link.

Invite the club

Anyone with this link can add their own birds to this flight. Pass it round the club rather than posting it publicly.

How a shared group works

Setting one up

  1. Create a group as usual, with a name and your own trackers — or open one you already have.
  2. Set the release point while you're there. It's what the direct line home is measured from.
  3. Save, then press Invite on the group's card.
  4. Send that link to the other fanciers. Anyone logged in who opens it ticks which of their own birds are flying, and they're added to the map.

What everyone is actually sharing

  • It starts at the release point. The invite link can't be created until the group has one set, since that's what the shared view measures everything from.
  • It stops when a bird gets home. The moment a tracker is reported within 200m of that fancier's own loft, its track ends there — nothing it reports afterwards is shared to the group.
  • Only the birds each fancier ticks. Nobody gets access to anyone else's trackers, pigeons, or account — just positions for the birds they chose to enter.
  • As organiser, you can push the group's start time later once people have joined, but never earlier.

Changing your mind

  • Before entering, anyone can tick or leave freely — nothing has been shared yet.
  • The way out is Withdraw, on the join page. It stops new positions being shared from that moment on — the track already flown stays on the map, marked as withdrawn. It's reversible: tick the bird again to resume sharing.
  • The organiser can turn off sharing entirely at any time, which removes everyone else's birds from the group.

Worth knowing

  • The direct line home is drawn to your own loft only — everyone else's loft is marked on the map, but a line for every fancier from one release point would bury the actual tracks underneath them.
  • Ask everyone to set their loft location in Settings first, or their birds won't have a destination on the shared map.

Pedigree Import

Upload a photo or PDF of a pedigree and the pigeons are created for you.

Every bird found (all generations) becomes a pigeon with its parents linked. Ring number, sex, colour, eye colour and the like go in their own fields; anything else (results, achievements, remarks) is saved in the pigeon's Pedigree Text.
